The NBA has seen a fair share of injuries this season including a number of superstars and it seems that the latest one to join the list is Donovan Mitchell.

Utah’s guard got injured in the duel against the Indiana Pacers during an attempt to block a high pass near midcourt. He twisted his ankle pretty hard as he came down from the jump.

He initially managed to stand up on his own but soon after stumbled into his team’s bench at the sideline and had to be helped off the court.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the X-Rays were negative with an MRI coming later. It was diagnosed as a lower ankle sprain and there’s some early optimism that this isn’t a major injury.

Mitchell has been averaging a career-high 26.5 points and 5.3 assists so far this season and an outstanding 36.8 points over his last five games. He had 22 points on the sheet in the 21 minutes he spent on the court against Indiana before going down to injury.
