Gallinari, Bogdanovic pace Hawks to victory over Trail Blazers

Danilo Gallinari dropped seven three-pointers for a total of 28 points as the Atlanta Hawks (36-30) are still actively chasing a playoffs spot with a 123-114 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers (36-29).

Gallinari further added 8 rebounds, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in 32 minutes coming from the bench, while Bogdan Bogdanovic followed with 25 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Hawks, which snapped the Trail Blazers’ four-game winning streak.

Bogdanovic scored 23 of his 25 points in the first half, while he also made seven threes, one short of his career-best.

Damian Lillard led the way with 33 points for Portland and Carmelo Anthony made history, as his 14 points on Monday helped him surpass Elvin Hayes for the 10th place on the NBA’s career scoring list with 27,318 points.

Nikola Jokic posted 32 points, 9 rebounds for the Denver Nuggets (43-22) though they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers (37-28) 93-89 following a five-game winning streak. Anthony Davis led the way for the winners with 25 points and 7 rebounds.

Bojan Bogdanovic tapped 25 points and Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 24 points and 15 assists, as the Utah Jazz (47-18) outlasted the San Antonio Spurs (31-33) with a 110-99 victory. DeMar DeRozan scored 22 points and Rudy Gay added 17 points to lead the Spurs, who lost their fourth straight game.

The New York Knicks (37-28) beat the Memphis Grizzlies (32-32) 118-104 on the road, paced behind a 28-point performance by Julius Randle. Dillon Brooks tapped 25 points for Memphis and Jonas Valanciunas left the court with 11 points, 16 rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers (44-21) beat the Chicago Bulls (26-39) 106-94 and finished with five starters in double figures. Ben Simmons scored 15 points, Danny Green had 14 and Joel Embiid added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Coby White scored 23 points for the Bulls, who played without both Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine for their second straight game. Tomas Satoransky added 10 points, 6 assists in 23 minutes coming from the bench.

Domantas Sabonis flirted with triple-double figures with 32 points, 19 rebounds and 9 assists, though the Indiana Pacers (30-34) fell short to Washington Wizards (30-35) 154-141. Rui Hachimura and Bradley Beal led the way for the Wizards witth 27 and 26 points respectively, while Alex Len had 12 points.

Stephen Curry hit 8 threes for a 41-point performance, as Draymond Green added 10 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds, and Golden State Warriors (33-32) took a big step toward locking up a playoffs berth with a 123-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans (29-36).

Mo Bamba had 22 points and 15 rebounds as the Orlando Magic (21-44) beat the Detroit Pistons (19-46) 119-112 on Monday night. Saddiq Bey led Detroit with 26 points in a game that had little at stake, since the Pistons now have the second-worst record in the NBA and the Magic are now even with the Thunder for the fourth-worst mark.
