Bogdanovic, Jazz grab win in the series opener, Gallinari scores 21 in Hawks loss

The Philadelphia 76ers evened the series against the Atlanta Hawks with the 118-102 victory at home. The Utah Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 112-109, in the other NBA Playoffs contest held Tuesday.

Joel Embiid dropped 40 points in the first game of the evening as the Sixers tied the Eastern Conference Semifinals best-of-seven series at 1-1. Turkish Furkan Korkmaz missed all of his three shots but registered one steal and one block in six minutes. On the losing end, Italian Danilo Gallinari shared a team-high 21 points with Trae Young to go alongside with nine rebounds and two assists. Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic produced 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal, and Swiss Clint Capela ended up with ten points, eight rebounds, and one assist.

Donovan Mitchell followed with 45 points, including 33 in the second half, as the Jazz stormed back from a 14-point deficit for the 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Semifinals series. Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic connected three triples building the 18-point effort. French Rudy Gobert posted a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double plus three blocks, including the win-clinching rejection at the buzzer. Croatian Ivica Zubac logged 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three blocks for the visitors, while French teammate Nicolas Batum had six points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
