Solid Summer League outings for Maledon, Yurtseven

Turkish center Omer Yurtseven posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double alongside three blocks and three assists in the Miami Heat loss, 84-65. to the Utah Jazz in NBA Las Vegas Summer League action Friday.

Yurtseven, 23, became a defensive force for the losing side, especially in the early building stages of his latest strong showing.

French upstart Theo Maledon packed 18 points powered by five triples, six rebounds, and five assists for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the loss, 94-84, to the Golden State Warriors. German teammate Oscar da Silva registered eight points.

“I think we did a pretty good job competing, being intense defensively and executing on the offensive end,” mentioned Maledon. “I think we can learn a lesson from the game that is a 40-minute game and we got to play, and finish through the finish line.”

Elsewhere, Lithuanian Rokas Jokubaitis had eight points in 12 minutes as the New York Knicks were defeated by the Detroit Pistons, 93-87. French Killian Hayes finished with seven points, six assists, and five rebounds for the winning side.

French Olivier Sarr produced ten points plus eight rebounds, and Spanish Santi Aldama combined six points with 12 boards, but the Memphis Grizzlies fell to Sacramento Kings, 90-75. Portuguese Neemias Queta logged eight points, three rebounds, three blocks, and two assists for the Kings.

Also, Greek Georgios Kalaitzakis paired his nine points with seven assists in a Milwaukee Bucks loss, 91-64, to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
