The Toronto Raptors ended their preseason with a 113-108 victory over the Washington Wizards, their first one on the road before the tip-off of the new NBA season next week.

Goran Dragic was among the top contributors for the Raptors, as he had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 22 minutes on the court in this victory.

Dragic switched sides this summer after spending the last six seasons with the Miami Heat and brings in years of point guard experience in the NBA to the Raptors.

“One thing that I can bring is to play hard, to bring my experience. This is the preseason so I don’t put much thought into it but when the regular season starts you know that’s a different ball game. I’ve already been here in the league for 14 years so I know what to expect. It’s always nice to open the season in front of our fans, they are going to give us a great boost and we just need to bring energy and play as a team and I think as long as we win the first game, we going to be okay”, Dragic told the press post-game.

Raptors also got help from Malachi Flynn who scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter while Sam Dekker added 12 of his total 18 points in the fourth as the team recovered from an eight-point deficit to reach the victory.

Wizards’ Deni Avdija had 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in 20 minutes coming from the bench, as the franchise has yet to register a victory in the preseason. They have one more display against the New York Knicks on Friday before heading off to the regular season.
