Five players of the Cleveland Cavaliers tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday (19/12) according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Cavs players were tested the morning right after their big win over reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks.

The Cavs are now without seven players overall since center Evan Mobley and forward Isaac Okoro had entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols last week. Cleveland is planned to face the Atlanta Hawks Sunday (19/12) and, at this moment, it’s questionable if they will have the minimum required number of eight players for the match.

The Hawks are missing star Trae Young who has also entered the league’s protocols for COVID-19.

The NBA is facing a major coronavirus crisis since, as of now, there are 64 players out for coronavirus-related reasons. Three head coaches (Los Angeles Lakers’ Frank Vogel, Dallas Mavericks’ Rick Carlisle and Sacramento Kings’ Alvin Gentry) are also in the health and safety protocols.
