Fans who watched the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies were in for a treat courtesy of LeBron James and Ja Morant: 78 points and 23 rebounds combined for the two players but only one result to take from the match.

Morant’s 41 points and 10 rebounds led the Grizzlies to a 104 – 99 win over the struggling Lakers. The 20-year-old guard had a particularly stellar second half during which he scored 25 while dropping 10 out of his team’s last 15 points to also close the game successfully.

“I was taking what the defense gave me and it turned out good for us,” Morant said after the match. He drained 6-7 triples. “That’s normally how I attack every game. Tonight was just my night.”

James had 37 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists but did not receive that big of a help from his teammates. Carmelo Anthony finished with 2-11 shots and five points overall while Russell Westbrook registered a triple-double (16 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds) only to miss an uncontested layup in transition with the score 100 – 97 for the Grizzlies.
