Domantas Sabonis was suspended for one game without pay, NBA announced Wednesday.

Sabonis, 25, had put up a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double before receiving double technicals and getting ejected during the fourth quarter of Monday’s home game pitting the Sacramento Kings against the New York Knicks.

As a result of the suspension, the Lithuanian big man will not be available to play opposite the Denver Nuggets tonight (10/3, 04:00 CET).

Per the press release: “Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has been suspended for one game without pay for aggressively confronting and making contact with a game official, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations.

The incident began with Sabonis receiving a technical foul for an unsportsmanlike reaction to a called four. Sabonis then reacted demonstratively again in the vicinity of the game official, and approached and bumped the official in a hostile manner, resulting in a second technical foul and an ejection.

The episode occurred with 4:35 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sacramento’s 131-115 loss to the New York Knicks on March 7 at Golden 1 Center.

Sabonis will serve the suspension tonight when the Kings play host to the Denver Nuggets.”

After being traded from the Indiana Pacers and landing in California’s capital, he has produced 17.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game over 11 appearances, all as a member of the starting unit.

Carrying a 24-43 record, the Kings sit four games outside the Play-In zone of the Western Conference.
