The first face-off after the blockbuster trade that sent Ben Simmons to the Brooklyn Nets and James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers was rather intense, with Brooklyn grabbing a 129-100 victory on the road.

Kevin Durant scored 18 of his total 25 points in the first half to go along with 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the Nets, Seth Curry followed with 24 points and Kyrie Irving had 22 points. Simmons remained on the bench throughout the game amid boos by the Philadelphia crowd.

Joel Embiid paced the Sixers with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds while Harden dropped 11 points against his former team. This marked the first loss for third-placed Philadelphia in the East since Harden joined the rotation.

Despite shooting a poor 3 of 17 from the field, Harden passed Reggie Miller to overtake the third place for career three-pointers made, after hitting his 2,561st on Thursday evening. The veteran guard has achieved this feat across 13 seasons and 924 games played.

Stephen Curry posted 24 of his 34 points in the second half and the Golden State Warriors used a late 13-0 run to prevail over the Denver Nuggets for the first time this season with a 113-102 victory on the road.

Jordan Poole added 21 points and 7 assists, while Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson both scored 18 points for the Warriors.

Nikola Jokic was one assist shy of a triple-double, leading the Nuggets with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Monte Morris dropped 19 points and 5 rebounds and Jeff Green had 11 points for the hosts which suffured their first defeat after a four-game winning streak.
