European trio solid in Atlanta’s rout over Charlotte, Pelicans eliminate Spurs

The NBA play-in tournament continued with the games between the 9th and 10th seeds in both Conferences. The Atlanta Hawks got a convincing win over the Charlotte Hornets while the New Orleans Pelicans got the better of the San Antonio Spurs.

That means San Antonio and Charlotte finished their season while the Hawks will face Cleveland for the eighth seed in the East and New Orleans will clash against the Clippers in the West.

Trae Young led Atlanta’s 132-103 winning effort with 24 points and 11 assists while De’Andre Hunter scored 22. European players followed right behind with Danilo Gallinari scoring 18, Clint Capela 15, and Bogdan Bogdanovic 13 points. Capela also grabbed 17 rebounds.

For Charlotte, LaMelo Ball had 26 points and eight assists while Terry Rozier scored 21 and PJ Washington 17 points.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans logged a 113-103 victory against the Spurs. CJ McCollum was the top scorer of the night with 32 points while adding seven assists and six rebounds.

Brandon Ingram had 27 while Jonas Valanciunas was also strong with 22 points and 14 rebounds. For the Spurs, Devin Vassell scored 23 points in addition to Dejounte Murray and Jacob Poeltl’s 16 each. Both Murray and Poeltl grabbed nine rebounds.
