The Basketball Federation of Serbia held a ceremony for best in 2022, and as expected, Nikola Jokic won the award for the best player.

The Denver Nuggets ace and two-time NBA MVP won 34 votes from the Serbian journalists, beating for the award Vasilije Micic of Anadolu Efes, who received four, and Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s Milos Teodosic with one vote.

I’m very sorry for not being able to attend the ceremony, but I’d like to thank the Basketball Federation of Serbia and the journalists for choosing me as the best player of the year in Serbia. A great honor and pleasure. We all know what basketball represents for our country and for me. Thanks to my family and team, who have been helping me progress for the last seven or eight years“, Nikola Jokic said in a video message after winning the award for the fourth time, third in a row.

This season Jokic is also putting MVP numbers and leading the Nuggets to first place on Western Conference standings while averaging 25 points, 10,8 rebounds, and 9,7 assists per game.
