The Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics are two teams that have been interested in San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Raptors are the team that gave Poeltl his first NBA contract after selecting him 9th overall in 2016.

Poeltl was previously reported to be a player who’s targeted by several NBA clubs that may present the Spurs with the “kind of offer” that will be considered satisfactory. So far in 2022-23, he’s averaging 12.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 26.5 minutes over 35 games.

The Spurs acquired Poeltl in the DeMar DeRozan trade of 2018. The 27-year-old Austrian big man had his breakthrough season last year, when he finished with career-highs 13.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a starter in the 67 out of the 68 games he played.
