For the first time since the former Brooklyn Nets star joined Dallas, both Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic went over 30 points in a game. However, Minnesota beat them with an amazing Rudy Gobert.

The French center, who was acquired by the Timberwolves from the Utah Jazz in the summer to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, had probably his best game since coming to Minneapolis.

During the NBA night, Rudy Gobert had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, being perfect from the field (9/9), in 30 minutes spent on the court.

Minnesota went up by 26 points at a certain moment, but Dallas almost managed to tie things up. When the Mavericks went small, Chris Finch decided to put Gobert out but didn’t put him in again, risking the win.

The 30-year-old big spoke about this after the 124-121 away victory. “I trust Coach. At the same time, I want to win and when it’s winning time for me, that’s what I live for. That’s when I elevate myself when I’m at my best. Definitely want to be out there unless I’m not playing well. But, we have a lot of talent on this team and sometimes I got to trust Coach and what he does”, he said.

The former Utah Jazz center is averaging 13.1 points and 11.4 rebounds, shooting 67.4% from the field, in the first season with his new team.
