A few days ago, the Detroit Pistons announced Monty Williams as their newest head coach starting from the 2023-24 season, after the 51-year-old left the Phoenix Suns following a 45-37 season ended in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets.

Now, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Michigan franchise has decided to add to its coaching staff Stephen Silas, former Houston Rockets head coach and former top assistant with the Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, and Golden State Warriors, as Monty Williams’ top assistant.

Stephen Silas, 49 years old, has been coaching the Rockets since 2020 and ended his adventure in Texas with an overall 59-117 record. He’s the son of former player and head coach Paul Silas, who passed away in December 2022.
