New York Knicks wing Evan Fournier is entering training camp with the expectation that he will once again be an active player in the rotation after getting sidelined in the second half of the previous season.

“To be honest, I might be dreaming but to me, I can help the team,” Fournier said to reporters. “I’m a good player. I can fucking play. I bring stuff that this team doesn’t have too. I have hope to play, to be honest. Maybe I’m crazy, I don’t know. Maybe Thibs made up his mind.

“I’m going to treat every practice and every opportunity I have like it’s the last,” Fournier added.

Fournier made similar comments during the 2023 FIBA World Cup when he told Eurohoops that he’s able to make an impact at the Knicks.”I know I can help. I know I can play, I know I can do many things,” the French national team star had mentioned in Jakarta.

Last season,Fournier played just 17.0 minutes over 27 games with the Knicks. He was a starter in all of his 80 appearances in 2021-22, averaging 29.5 minutes.

“He’s the ultimate professional,” said Knicks guard Jalen Brunson. “It’s a very tough situation to be in, but he gets his work in, stays ready…He’s been a great teammate & that’s the one thing I’m very proud of him for. We all respect that, we all see that.”
