Recovering from an overtime win is just part of the task at hand for Sasha Vezenkov. Besides helping the Sacramento Kings prevail over the Los Angeles Lakers in Golden 1 Center, facing LeBron James was a dream come true for the Bulgarian power forward.

“When I go home and realize I played against LeBron, for example, it will be a little like a dream,” he confessed following the NBA Sundays win.

Focusing on securing the win and his side jumping to 2-1, he provided 11 points, four rebounds, one block, and one assist in spoiling the 20th anniversary of James’ NBA debut in the same city.

Shooting 50% from the field, including 40% from beyond the arc, Vezenkov is averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.3 blocks, and 0.3 steals per game over his first three appearances in the league based in North America.

“You have to adjust, first mentally,” the season MVP of the previous edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague explained on the gradually feeling more comfortable in the NBA, “There will be games worse or less good than the others. I am here working every day, trying to learn from everybody. All advice from every player and coach is very useful. I am trying to adapt as fast as possible.”

Up next for the Kings is a three-game road trip starting against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday and then visiting the Houston Rockets on Saturday and Monday.
