It is all about enhancing his game for Luka Doncic. A productive environment at the Dallas Mavericks helps the Slovenian combo guard.

Doncic, 24, led his side to a comeback win against the Orlando Magic in Amway Center on Monday. He tallied 29 points with 9/17 field goals, six assists, three rebounds, and two steals. A brief exit due to a minor injury failed to slow him down in Orlando.

“This a great and very tough win for us,” he commented on the Mavs jumping to 6-1 in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, “We need to keep fighting, keep playing defense, and it is going to lead a long way.”

He is averaging 32.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in a solid start.

“Dirk Nowitzki should be a role model”

The four-time All-Star delivered a direct response on what he would want to be better at on the court. “Everything,” described the process of constantly improving.

Working under special advisor Dirk Nowitzki and head coach Jason Kidd pushes Doncic toward his ceaseless goal.

“I was lucky enough to play with him one season. The things he has done for Dallas are unbelievable, not just as a player but as a person as well,” he mentioned on Nowitzki, “I think he should be a role model for every player in the league.”

“He has been in my shoes. So, he knows what it is about. One of the best passers in the world,” he added on Kidd.

“I am lucky to listen to them,” he summed up.

The next game is against the Toronto Raptors in American Airlines Center on Wednesday.
