The Wagner brothers won the German derby against Dennis Schroder

The German national team suffered a tough loss to Bulgaria a few days ago on the road to FIBA EuroBasket 2025, and one of the reasons why the reigning World Cup champions weren’t successful relies on the lack of its NBA superstars.

In the latest NBA night, three huge assets for Gordon Herbert’s team clashed, as the Wagner brothers got the 108-81 win for the Orlando Magic over the Brooklyn Nets and Germany’s golden MVP in the World Cup, Dennis Schroder.

Franz Wagner had another smooth performance, scoring 21 points over 8/11 from the field with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. “I thought it was an important game for us, knowing how the last two games went against them. I was pretty happy with how everybody came out focused for the whole game”, he commented after the win.

His brother Moritz added 16 points and 5 boards off the bench. The former Toronto Raptors playmaker, who joined the team midway through the season, had 15 points in the defeat.

“You could feel our energy the whole game. We’ve had a couple of games already this season where we kind of let it slip in that third, so it was great the way we came out at halftime”, Franz Wagner added.
