After earning Most Valuable Player honors as the leader of the championship-winning Team Stars in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, Anthony Edwards expressed his concerns about the limited participation of Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic.

“No shade towards Luka and Jokic, they are two of the best players in the league, but they’re not trying to play in the All-Star Game,” he mentioned during a postgame interview.

While the 24-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves guard piled up 32 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in 26 minutes of play at the Intuit Dome on Sunday, the Serbian superstar was held to two rebounds in just five minutes of action, and his Slovenian peer had two points and two assists over five minutes.

Meanwhile, France’s Victor Wembanyama was the standout player for Team World, with a total of 33 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. In contrast to Doncic and Jokic, who were nursing injuries and being cautious during the annual exhibition, the Alien set the pace for the entire three-team tournament with his energy on the court.

“He set the tone, and it was definitely competitive with all three teams. I feel like the old heads played hard, too. They were playing real good defense,” said Edwards in a postgame press conference, extending praise from Wemby to the veteran-led Team Stripes. “It woke me up, for sure.”

Powering the Wolves in the 2025-26 Regular Season, the Atlanta native has averaged 29.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest over 46 appearances.
