The Minnesota Timberwolves staged a historic comeback at Target Center on Wednesday, overcoming a 13-point deficit in overtime to defeat the Houston Rockets 110-108. The rally, capped by a 15-0 closing run, stands as the largest overtime comeback in NBA history. Julius Randle secured the victory with a go-ahead jumper with 8.8 seconds remaining, neutralizing a 30-point performance from Houston’s Turkish star Alperen Sengun.

European talent played a central role in the Timberwolves’ defensive stand. Italian starter Donte DiVincenzo tallied 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists in 36 minutes, while French center Rudy Gobert contributed a double-double of 14 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks before fouling out. Although France’s Joan Beringer did not play for the Wolves, the Rockets saw 10 minutes from Swiss backup Clint Capela, who recorded four rebounds and two blocks.

“Get stops, get rebounds,” 29-year-old DiVincenzo said of the late-game surge. “We got a little frantic on the offensive end towards the end, but in the last timeout we regrouped, made a run, and that’s it. At the end of the day, put the ball in Julius’ hands, and he did what he did.”

The win improves Minnesota to 45-28 for the 2025-26 Regular Season, while Houston drops to 43-29.

Gobert on Health and Longevity

Earlier on Wednesday, 33-year-old Gobert spoke to Andscape about the dietary discipline required for his long-term health. “A lot of the injuries or things that happen to the body are linked to inflammation,” he said. “So, what you eat is going to heal you or slowly kill you. There’s no in-between.”

“If you eat food that nourishes you, that removes inflammation from your body, obviously you’re giving your joints, your muscles, your tendons, all your cells — you’re giving them opportunity to recover better. So, obviously, you lengthen your career and your life,” he added.
