In the video he posted, he shows moments from his journey with the Bucks, highlighted by an “iconic” moment with Milwaukee fans after winning the championship.
Additionally, at the end, we see the video where it all began, in which he says, “I want to be an NBA player,” while he was a player for Filathlitikos.
Giannis statement:
“City of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, I want you to remember this from me. Don’t worry about basketball, don’t worry about the championship, the wins, or the losses. I try to be like them. I believe they are people who work very hard every day and earn money just to watch the Milwaukee Bucks.
To come and feel something, to be a part of us. I hope I was able to represent them as best I could and be like them. I did all the dirty work, like them.
I hope that bringing the championship to the city meant something to them because it meant so much to me. I want you to hear it from my mouth. The city of Milwaukee will forever be in my heart.
It is my home, and a place where I had my children, my mother is here, my father, my brothers played here. It made me the man I am today and that will never change. Wherever I am, Milwaukee will forever be my city, my team, my family.”
