Dennis Smith Jr. has reached an agreement with the Miami Heat, his agent Daniel Hazan told Chris Haynes.
According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Smith will receive an Exhibit 10 contract but is not expected to join Miami at the start of training camp. He will likely begin the season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat’s G League affiliate.
Smith briefly played for Real Madrid in early 2025, making two appearances each in the EuroLeague and Liga ACB before leaving after just over a month.
The ninth pick in the 2017 NBA Draft has averaged 9.7 points, 4.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds across 326 NBA games.
