NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has pulled back the curtain on his move to the Miami Heat.

While sitting down for a personal discussion on The Thanalysis Show podcast with his brother Thanasis and Tony Cartagena, the former champion in 2021 shared what it is like to start a new chapter in Florida while trying to keep his life grounded.

The first part of the conversation was posted on Tuesday and initially centered around his jersey. While his new uniform has already become a collector’s item, the Greek Freak opened up about switching his jersey number from his iconic 34 to 7 this season.

Beyond the court, the interview highlights his insistence on living like an ordinary dad. He shared a couple of everyday moments from his first week in the city that quickly caught fire online, including an unexpected vehicle choice for his commute to practice and a grocery run that caught the attention of team president Pat Riley before he even knew it was on social media.

Furthermore, Giannis voiced frustration regarding public double standards, recalling an unsettling interaction at an airport involving his kids. The incident forced him to draw a sharp line between his passion for the sport and the intrusive side of celebrity culture.

Meanwhile, the Heat are set to wrap up their NBA Preseason 2026 schedule, hosting the Brooklyn Nets at Kaseya Center on Wednesday and visiting the Orlando Magic at Kia Center on Friday. From there to starting the 2026–27 Regular Season in Miami against the Minnesota Timberwolves next Wednesday.
