LeBron James’ daily helicopter commute has been among the biggest talking points in the NBA.

After joining the Philadelphia 76ers for his league-record 24th season, the four-time champion chose not to move to Pennsylvania. Instead, he lives in Manhattan. He flies a private chopper back and forth for team practices in Camden, New Jersey, and home games at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

This aerial transit has sparked immense curiosity across the league. After the Sixers closed their Preseason 2026 schedule with an overtime loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday, reporters asked James about the skyward travel. The 41-year-old superstar downplayed the setup. “I’ve done it before. Just another way of transportation. Yeah, that’s all,” he calmly explained.

While his flight routine commands headlines, the veteran combo forward is also getting ready for the 2026–27 Regular Season. Over two exhibition appearances, he averaged 9.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. The real test starts Tuesday, with his new team opening their 82-game schedule against the defending champion New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The native of Akron, Ohio, entered the league in 2003 as the top draft pick. He went on to secure four championships during historic stints with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Lakers. Along the way, he also solidified his legacy as the all-time leading scorer. After inking a two-year contract as an unrestricted free agent in late July, he is now chasing a fifth ring with the 76ers.
