Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Bryan Colangelo announced that the team has agreed with former Sixers forward Elton Brand to join the organization as a Player Development Consultant.

In this role, Brand will be involved in assisting the players in every facet of their career development, in addition to other responsibilities within the basketball operations department.

“We are extremely excited to bring Elton Brand back into the organization where he will be a valuable resource to our young and developing team,” Colangelo stated. “Elton’s leadership and character displayed throughout his playing career as a player align perfectly with our vision, direction and culture of this basketball team, coaching staff and management group.”

An active member in the community throughout his NBA career, Brand established the Elton Brand Foundation in spring of 2000. Additionally, he is also a founding member and president of Gibraltar Films, a company engaged in film investment, acquisition, production, and distribution of motion pictures.

Alongside his NBA career, he was part of the US National team for several years, including the team’s last loss up to date, against Greece in 2006.
