Dirk Nowitzki had a 25 million option in his contract with the Dallas Mavericks for the upcoming season but the club is going to decline it with the purpose of signing him anew, as ESPN has reported.

The German center had signed a two-year $50 million contract last summer with the Mavs and a similar kind of deal is expected to be reached this year as well.

According to ESPN, the way the Mavs will operate on the matter is going to be dictated by Nowitzki’s desires and the general plan is to do “What Dirk Wants”.
