Immediately, the arena was silenced and players from both teams as well as fans and reporters were silenced by a horrific scene that no-one likes to see.
Many NBA players reacted via twitter and expressed their thoughts and prayers for their colleague.
Kobe Bryant also posted a photo on Instagram showing his support to Gordon Hayward as he himself suffered a severe injury in the last stages of his prime.
