Antetokounmpo finished with 37 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists and the Bucks beat the Utah Jazz 117-100 on Saturday night for their third consecutive victory.
The Greek Freak scored 24 points in the second half, drawing chants of “MVP! MVP!” from the home crowd on multiple occasions. Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe each added 20 points. French big man Rudy Gobert led the Jazz with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Turk forward Ersan Ilyasova scored 26 points while making all nine of his shots, including five 3-pointers in Atlanta’s 117-110 victory over Orlando. German guard Dennis Schroder added 18 points and 7 rebounds.
For the losing side, Montenegrin Nikola Vucevic registered game highs with 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his first ever triple-double. The 7-foot center made 4 of 6 3-pointers. With French guard Even Fournier injured, Croatian Mario Hezonja made his first start and scored seven points and on 3-of-9 shooting.
In the battle of the shooting big men, Latvian Kristaps Porzingis missed the final shot despite scoring 23 and Chicago got the 104-102 win over New York with Spaniard Nikola Mirotic scoring 19 points and Finland’s pride rookie Lauri Markkanen adding 15.
Spaniard Alex Abrines registered a career-high of 20 points as the Thunder beat Memphis after overtime 102-101 against Marc Gasol’s 22 points. Italian forward Danilo Gallinari also registered a season-high in the Clippers’ win.
