Lauri Markkanen expected to make season debut vs. Rockets

Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen is expected to make his season debut in the game of his team against the Houston Rockets, Saturday (1/12), per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Markkanen’s status ahead of the match updated to “probable”, the Bulls announced and the Finnish big should step on courts for the first time this campaign following an elbow sprain he had suffered in a practice during preseason.

It will be a much welcome return for the struggling Bulls that are currently 5-18.

In 2017-2018, his rookie season in the NBA, Markkanen averaged 15.2 points and 7.5 rebounds over 30 minutes per game in 68 matches. He also set an NBA record for becoming the fastest player in the league’s history to reach 100 3-pointers, reaching the achievement in 41 games.
