Ricky Rubio on trades: Teams upstairs sometimes don’t feel like chemistry matters

Utah Jazz guard Ricky Rubio criticized NBA front offices for neglecting aspects such as team chemistry when they make decisions during the trade period.

“The teams upstairs sometimes don’t feel like chemistry matters. And it matters more than anything,” Rubio said in the pre-game presser ahead of Saturday’s (9/2) game against the San Antonio Spurs., per Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune.

The whole drama of the trade period that escalated more and more with Thursday’s (7/2) deadline approaching is lovely for the fans but not quite enjoyable for Rubio. “It wasn’t fun and all. Do I like it? No. I hate it. It is what it is. You move on and keep playing,” the Spanish guard said.

Rubio saw his own named being dropped in the numerous trade scenarios but he ultimately stayed with the Jazz. A non-development that left him pleased.  “We have a great group of guys. We have each other’s back. We love each other here.”
