The 2018-19 campaign was definitely tough for Lauri Markkanen. The 21-year-old Finnish forward missed the first part of the NBA Regular Season due to his elbow injury and was shut down by the Chicago Bulls in late March after experiencing extreme fatigue and an accelerated heart rate during a road game versus the Toronto Raptors.

It was time for some good news. Markkanen was examined by cardiologists at both Rush University Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University to put aside any fears of a potential heart issue moving forward. With his latest adventure behind him, the Arizona alumni hopes to start the 2019-20 campaign healthy.

Despite his injury and the early end to his campaign, Markkanen managed to play 52 games in the 2018-19 NBA Regular Season. He averaged 18.2 points, 9 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
