Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t enough for the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Toronto Raptors secured the “W” at the Scotiabank Arena and advanced to the NBA Finals with their fourth consecutive win.

Commenting on the outcome the Greek Freak said: “We were playing very well in the first half and in the third quarter. We knew the Raptors were going to make a run. We weren’t able to rebound the ball and get easy points in transition, so we lost the lead.”

He added: “It’s just the start of a long journey. We’re going to get better and come back next year believing in what we built this year. Hopefully we can be in the same situation and be the team moving forward.”

The leading candidate for the 2018-19 NBA MVP award later left the press conference without answering a question posed to both himself and Khris Middleton, about the team experience.

Antetokounmpo, 24, finished his 2018-19 campaign with 21 points, 11 rebounds, four dimes, three rejections and two steals. He averaged 25.9 points per game in the Playoffs, earlier had 27.7 points, 12,5 boards, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per contest during the Regular Season.

Fellow European, Ersan Ilyasova posted 13 points, six rebounds and one assist in Game 6. Afterwards, he mentioned: “We have a bright future. We have pieces we can built on. They’re many positives, but our season coming to and end was disappointing.”
