Giannis Antetokounmpo lands NBA MVP award

The third annual NBA Awards show concluded with Giannis Antetokounmpo named 2018-19 MVP. The Greek Freak took home the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player for the 2018-19 season award joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in the history of the Milwaukee Bucks to earn the MVP honors.

Antetokounmpo was nominated alongside James Harden and Paul George, gathered 78 of the 101 possible votes by the media. Harden got the other 23.

He was previously included in both All-NBA First Team and in the NBA All-Defensive First Team securing Eastern Conference MVP honors in October/November, December, February and March/April as well. He was also named Eastern Conference Player of the Week six times.

The ceremony took place at Barker Hangar Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California on Monday evening.
