Nets, Caris LeVert agree to contract extension

Caris LeVert will sign a new three-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN reported on his 25th birthday. The contract extension secured 52.5 million dollars for the American swingman, 16.2 million dollars for the 2020-21 season, 17.5 for the 2021-22 season and 18.8 million for the 2022-23 season, surely a great birthday gift.

The Michigan alumni was picked 20th in the 2016 NBA draft and was eligible for a contract extension this summer. During his first three NBA campaigns, he took part in 173 contests, all with the Nets. However, a right ankle injury forced him to miss a large chunk of the 2018-19 season.

Aside his injury, LeVert averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 40 regular season games, added 21 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal per match in his five first playoffs matches. Totally, he has notched 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per NBA regular season game.
