Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and several more clubs of Israel’s Super League recently freed players from team obligations allowing foreigners to return to their countries. However, several American stars have opted to remain in Israel considering the country currently safer than the USA, per Walla! Sports.

The report notes that Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv’s Elijah Bryant, Tarik Black, and Scottie Wilbekin decided to stay in Israel, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem’s Suleiman Braimoh and Emanuel Terry as well.

“Right now it’s safer here than the States,” one of the above players pointed out, “The airports and planes are slightly dangerous, and I don’t want to risk it for now.”

Following the example of most major European competitions, the Israeli league suspended the 2019-20 season until further notice, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, a couple of days ago.
