Petteri Koponen back to Finland

Petteri Koponen has signed with the Helsinki Seagulls, the team announced Friday.

Koponen, 33, returned to his home country at the club level after spending the last 13 seasons abroad. He departed from Tapiolan Honka in 2008 for a successful and lengthy career outside Finland, including 155 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Italy and Reggio Emilia marked the previous stop for the Finland senior national team regular since 2008. He logged 9.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per LBA match over 11 appearances.

His previous teams were Virtus Bologna, Khimki Moscow Region, FC Barcelona, and FC Bayern Munich.
