Browne, Armand, Thomas combine for 71 points and take down Fenerbahce

Two teams, in completely opposite situations when it comes to the standings, clashed and the bottom-placed Petkim Spor succeeded in upsetting the top-placed Fenerbahce BEKO with 95-90 after overtime.

Fenerbahce managed to recover from a 13-point deficit (47-34) and even had an upper hand throughout the fourth quarter but Petkim Spor managed to force overtime and eventually win.

While it was a team effort, three players from Petkim Spor heavily stood out. Gary Browne led the scorers with 27 points while Sean Armand followed with 23 and Malcolm Thomas, a former Fener player, added 21 points.

Browne and Armand also dished out six assists each while Thomas grabbed eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, for Fenerbahce, Melih Mahmutoglu and Devin Booker scored 16 points each with Achille Polonara adding 11 points and ten rebounds. Sehmus Hazer scored ten points.

With this outcome, Fenerbahce now holds a 16-3 record while Petkim Spor stayed at the bottom with 3-16.

Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes was victorious with 87-72 against Besiktas Icrypex as Bugrahan Tuncer and Rodrigue Beaubois stepped up to the cause. Efes improved to 12-3 compared to Besiktas’ 8-8 record.

Tuncer scored 24 and Beaubois 20 points to lead the winning side while Vasilije Micic and Erten Gazi helped with 11 each.

For Besiktas, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scored 14 in addition to Furkan Haltali’s 13 and Joshua Reaves’ 11 points.
