Karsiyaka and Galatasaray will play a very interesting Turkish league match on Sunday, which had an intriguing prelude.

Some Turkish media reported that Errick McCollum, now a member of Galatasaray, filed a complaint against his former club Karsiyaka because salaries were delayed by ten days.

The American has now spoken out on the social network X, revealing that his salary was actually delayed by 14 months.

“10 days?…. Is that the story you were told? Try 14 months late. This dating back to last season my friend. I’ve been patient and understanding but one can only be deceived and lied to so much before actions are taken.”

The EuroLeague winner with Fenerbahce added that the timing is very interesting, considering that the two teams will play their match in two days.

“The timing of this press release is very interesting. This FIBA action was taken by me at end of December but you wait until 1.5 months later and 2 days before the game of me coming back to Izmir to leak court case of late payment? Is the motive to make me an enemy for your lies?

I normally say nothing but not today. If you speak on me, speak with truth. I played my hardest everywhere I went, respected my uniform, fans, city, and earned everything. Oh yeah & everywhere I went we won! But agreements are agreement and I’ve waited since November of 2024.”

Finally, McCollum had a message for the fans.

“To my fans out there, never question my attitude, character or professionalism. Always do/have done my job, & done it damn good. I would never complain about payment 1-2 months late, but 14-15 months is different especially when they say they will pay & don’t, month after month”
