Besiktas edges Bahcesehir to take 1-0 lead

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

The two teams already faced each other in the BKT EuroCup semifinals earlier this season, when Besiktas swept Bahcesehir 2-0.

Now, the Istanbul rivals coached by Serbian tacticians are meeting again in the Turkish BSL semifinals, and once more it was Dusan Alimpijevic’s side that came out on top, beating Marko Barac’s team 82-79 at home in Game 1.

The game went down to the final possession, but Ismet Akpinar missed a corner three-pointer that could have forced overtime, allowing Besiktas to secure the victory.

Connor Morgan led the winning side with 13 points, while Yigit Arslan and Jonah Matthews added 12 apiece. Brynton Lemar contributed 11 points, while Devon Dotson finished with 10 points and seven assists.

For Bahcesehir, Malachi Flynn stood out with 23 points, while Mateusz Ponitka and Trevion Williams added 11 each.
