Beşiktaş has confirmed that Ante Žižić will undergo surgery after suffering a shoulder injury during the team’s Turkish Basketball Super League semifinal series against Bahçeşehir.
The Croatian center was injured in the fourth quarter of Game 2 and was forced to leave the contest early. Medical examinations revealed an AC joint injury in his left shoulder, with the club deciding that surgical treatment was necessary.
The operation is scheduled for June 8 at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital and will be performed by Prof. Dr. Barış Kocaoğlu.
Žižić’s injury comes at a crucial stage of the season, with Beşiktaş currently trailing Bahçeşehir 2-1 in the best-of-five semifinal series. The black-and-whites now face a must-win Game 4 on Monday to keep their hopes of reaching the Finals alive.
The club added that the player’s treatment process has already begun.
