Besiktas secured a victory in Game 4 of the Turkish Championship semifinals by defeating Bahcesehir 73-71 on the road.
In doing so, Besiktas made a break, got back into the series, and now Game 5 will decide who will face Fenerbahce in the finals.
Anthony Brown was the top scorer with 16 points, Brynton Lemar scored 14, Jonah Mathews added 13 , while Conor Morgan was also in double figures with 10 points.
On the other side, Tyler Cavanaugh had 14 points and seven rebounds, Malachi Flynn added 13 with six assists, Furkan Haltali also scored 13, and Hunter Hale contributed 11 along with six assists.
Another game between the same rivals was decided after a drama, which has so far marked the Turkish Championship Playoffs.
It seemed that Dusan Alimpijevic’s team would achieve an easier victory, as they led by 14 points in the fourth quarter (67-53). However, Bahcesehir made a 13-0 run, completely coming back into the game and adding drama.
A three-pointer by Flynn brought the hosts to within one point (72-71), and after Lemar made only one free throw, Bahcesehir had a chance to win. Flynn was fouled with 3.8 seconds left, but the former Toronto player missed the first free throw.
Flynn then intentionally missed the second, after which the hosts secured an offensive rebound and another shot to win. However, Hale also missed from a difficult position, allowing Besiktas to reach a 2-2 tie.
The fifth game is scheduled for Wednesday, with Beşiktaş as the host.
