Fenerbahce edged Darussafaka with an 83-75 victory at home in Round 9 of the Turkish BSL to improve to an 8-1 record in the standings.

Nikola Kalinic paced the winners with 14 points and six assists, while he finished the game with a broken nose.

“We have watched the play many times after the end of the game and Kalinic was hit in the head, so I can’t understand why this was not an unsportsmanlike foul”, commented coach Zeljko Obradovic on the play that happened in the closing minutes of the game.

Melih Mahmutoglu and Bobby Dixon followed Kalinic’s lead and posted 13 points each.

On the other end of the court, Darussafaka’s Bonzie Colson had a game-high performance of 23 points, even though his team falls to a 4-5 record.
