Game 5 of Barcelona-Zenit to be played on Tuesday despite efforts of rescheduling

EuroLeague has tried to move Game 5 of the playoffs between FC Barcelona and Zenit St Petersburg, initially scheduled for Tuesday, May 4 (21:00 CET), to Wednesday, though flight difficulties along with the respective COVID-19 protocols have made it impossible for Zenit to fly to Barcelona earlier, as reported by RAC1’s Marc Mundet and confirmed by Eurohoops sources.

Barcelona’s flight back from their Game 3 and 4 trip to St Petersburg has been delayed and the squad had to spend one more night in Russia before returning back home late on Saturday.

Adding up to Barcelona’s delay, EuroLeague also aimed to unload Tuesday’s schedule, which also includes the finale of the series between Anadolu Efes and Real Madrid (18:45 CET) and Olimpia Milan vs. FC Bayern Munich (20:45 CET).
