Zenit Saint Petersburg announced that the team has added Tyson Carter to the roster with a deal valid until the end of the 2022-23 season, along with an extension option.

“I’m excited about this opportunity and looking forward to being a part of something special. Zenit is a well-known basketball club all over Europe and I am happy to join the organization. Hope we can climb all the heights, both in the VTB League and the Euroleague,” the player said.

Sports Director Manos Papadopoulos praised Carter: “Tyson Carter is a young and very talented player. We have followed this player for a long time and we believe that he has great potential and is ready to help us achieve the highest results. Important to mention that he played under the guidance of an excellent coach in a well-organized team, which makes him an even more attractive player. I am sure that a great future awaits him,” Papadopoulos said.

The 23-year-old joined Lavrio megabolt last season for his first professional contract and he made a great impression, also going into this season.

He’s been averaging 17 points on 56% shooting (43% from deep) over 17 games with the team this season. Carter’s best display came against Nizhny Novgorod in the Basketball Champions League with 35 points.
