Fenerbahce – Bayern Round 26 game suspended anew

The rescheduled Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul – FC Bayern Munich for Round 26 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, set to be played March 15, has been suspended anew, after the request of the German club.

Bayern announced several COVID cases Friday and remain without the minimum required eight players to compete. A new date is expected to be announced by EuroLeague in the coming days.

Per EuroLeague:

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 26 game Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. FC Bayern Munich rescheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 15 has been suspended.

Bayern requested the suspension after several team members tested positive for COVID-19, which leaves the team without the minimum eight players on the Authorization List fit to play.

Following the Special Regulations due to COVID-19, approved by the ECA Shareholders Executive Board, each game can be rescheduled up to three times, if there are available dates. Euroleague Basketball will coordinate with the affected teams the best options to reschedule the games. Alternative dates will be announced on official Euroleague Basketball platforms.
