Marko Guduric, one of Serbia’s premier players talked about his role on the National team and also on Fenerbahce BEKO. As he stated in an interview with Mozzart Sport that he is at his best when he is loud on the court.

I really like playing for my country, that’s how I was brought up. Maybe in the past, I haven’t played as well as I know, for one reason or another. I won’t go into those details now, but I was the reason every time when maybe I didn’t play my best, and I know how much I can do and I know that’s what is expected of me“, says the left-handed shooter.

Guduric admits that he was not always vocal and not always ready to be a leader, but that’s now changed: “I really care about playing for the national team. Some games were a result of me being withdrawn in general. When I was younger, maybe it had to be that way. Perhaps I should have assumed a leadership role at some earlier moments. I really enjoy playing with the ball, talking, being loud on the field, and helping my teammates. I do that in the club too. When I’m like that and when I have that energy, then I’m the best version of myself, unlike some situations where I might withdraw into myself… Not because I’m afraid, but whatever those reasons are, it’s different now“.

The Serbian shooting guard feels that he has the same role in Fenerbahce: “I always try to be a leader, now I have maybe the most seniority in the team after Mahmutoglu. I know how things work inside the club, in the team, with the fans… When I’m loud, I talk, and when I lead, not only on the field but also outside, then I’m the best version of Marko Guduric. I will try to do that in the future and we will see how far we can go. Personally, and also the club“.

And speaking about his club, he also explained with coach Dimitris Itoudis brings to the table: “He won everything, he proved himself and there is nothing much to talk about. He worked with all the biggest European and world players, in clubs and in the national team, and that’s all behind him. That alone is enough to describe him. What I can add, in the short time we spent together, what caught my eye the most was his attention to detail. He can’t miss anything. We all know how long he worked with Zeljko (Obradovic), and how close they were so that later he would improve himself. Everyone who follows basketball sees a lot of similarities between their systems and philosophies. I like it because I was also at Zeljko’s place, and I’m still there. Dimitris is definitely one of the best European coaches“.
