Bacon: I can’t throw a rock in the ocean

Dwayne Bacon arrived at Panathinaikos Athens earlier this month with a reputation as an elite scorer and the forward has somewhat lived up to that reputation by averaging 16.8 points in his first four games for the club. However, Bacon has needed a lot of shots to achieve those numbers, making just 35.3% of his two-point attempts and only 23.8% from beyond the arc.

In Tuesday’s victory over Virtus Segafredo Bologna, he scored 14 points on 3-of-11 two-point shooting and 1-of-5 on triples, plus 5 free throws on 6 shots from the line.

And to his credit, Bacon was the first to acknowledge that there is plenty of room for improvement to his field goal percentage as he joked after the game: “I feel good but I can’t throw a rock in the ocean at the moment! I can’t make any shots!
