Real Madrid guard Carlos Alocen could be making his long-awaited return to action Sunday (26/12) against Morabanc Andorra after being sidelined for more than 21 months.

According to Marca, Alocen has been practicing with the team for the last couple of weeks and may make the 12-man roster of Real Madrid for their upcoming ACB game.

“I think so and we hope so,” said Real coach Chus Mateo on Alocen’s potential comeback. “It could be that Alocen would return, although it could also be that he doesn’t.”

Alocen, 22, suffered a complete ACL rupture in his left knee in February 2022 during a Spanish League game at Unicaja Malaga. It was initially estimated that he would be out for seven months but his return was delayed after an injury relapse.

In 2019 when he was playing on loan to Zaragoza, Alocen was named Best Young Player in the ACB. He won the trophy again in 2020 while also winning Basketball Champions League Best Young Player.
