Oshae Brissett has penned a two-year contract extension with Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv. The deal was announced on Wednesday.

Per the press release: “Building alongside continuity is not just a slogan. Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv has signed Oshae Brissett for the next two years. The Canadian forward (2.01 meters, 28), who became a significant cog in Oded Kattash’s rotation, is staying with the club following a good debut season in the EuroLeague and a double with impressive performances in the Winner League playoffs.

“We are very happy that Oshae is continuing with us,” coach Oded Kattash told the club’s official website. “He has a very large part in the team’s success and everyone saw his significance for us. He integrated excellently and we believe he will be an anchor in our journey moving forward as well”.

“When you find a place that feels like home, you want to stay,” added Brissett. “That’s exactly how I feel about Maccabi Tel Aviv. Winning the double this season was an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for the trust the club and the fans have given me. Our GM Claudio let me know how valued I am here with Maccabi, and to me that means more than anything coming from someone like him. We had a lot of conversations during this time & he made me feel so comfortable with my decision. Playing for a coach like Oded is the reason I show up and play hard every game, he cares about winning and doing it the right way. That’s what we have in common, I’m so excited to continue playing for him. I can’t wait to keep building something special together. Yalla Maccabi.”

The addition of Oshae Brissett is another building block in the strong foundations of the roster available to coach Oded Kattash, who himself was signed to a three-year extension. Jaylen Hoard, Will Rayman, and Jimmy Clark III have already been signed to new long-term contracts, alongside Bonzie Colson, who was brought back to the club. Of course, one must not forget that the excellent forward lineup also includes Gur Lavy and T.J. Leaf, while Roman Sorkin also occasionally plays the number 4 position.

Oshae Brissett was born and raised in Canada, studied for a period in Nevada in the United States, and played for Syracuse. Over the years, he managed to play for Toronto, Indiana, Boston, and Philadelphia in the NBA, alongside G-League teams, before joining Maccabi in the summer of 2025.

Brissett started in 20 of Maccabi’s 36 games in his debut EuroLeague season. He contributed 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds (second on the team), and a 10.4 performance index rating (PIR) in 24:35 minutes on average per game. The Canadian established himself as a big, athletic, and combative forward who goes hard for offensive rebounds and provides excellent defensive coverage on rivals in any position.

His significant defensive contribution and size advantage over most of his opponents turned Oshae Brissett into a meaningful factor in Oded Kattash’s rotation in the local league as well. In the regular season, he scored 10.1 points (38.8% from three) and grabbed 6 rebounds, before shifting into high gear in the playoffs, contributing wonderful defense, energy, and athleticism, while raising his averages to 12 points, 7.1 rebounds, and a 14.1 performance index rating on the way to the championship plate and completing the double.”
