CSKA Moscow had been “locked” on Sergio Rodriguez for quite some time, since he was the big target to potentially replace Milos Teodosic if the latter went to the NBA. Actually Rodriguez’s representatives had a meeting with the Russian powerhouse ten days ago in Moscow.

And now despite the informations about an offer by the Sixers, it seems that the deal with CSKA Moscow is struck. The 2016 EuroLeague champions are reportedly bringing “Chacho” back from the NBA with an agreement fora  three-year contract, according to multiple reports.

Rodriguez was a free agent after spending the previous season with the Philadelphia 76ers during which he averaged 7.8 points and 5.1 assists per game.

The 31-year-old point guard is returning to EuroLeague a competition he won in 2015 with Real Madrid and won season MVP in 2014 to become the new floor-general of CSKA. The “Army Men”, found quite possibly the ideal and more fitting choice of a player for the seemingly impossible task of filling Teodosic’s shoes. Indeed, if there’s someone with the skills of succeeding in this, then this person is Sergio Rodriguez.
